Muchos niños

We decided on a taxi to go from alejula to San Ramon because it was getting close to sundown. 17,000 colones later we arrived at San Ramon. The thing that stands out the most about this city is how many children there are.....the population here seems very young. Our impression was that it was a town for families, seemed to be very safe and although it was smaller than alejuala the streets were in much better condition.

Latinas, like most women of the world, seem to like their shoes, but, somewhere along the way I think the latinas went a bit crazy. There are more shoe stores than any other store we could find. I kid you not, I've seen atleast 100 shoe stores. When we were in parque national poas hiking up this somewhat difficult trail there was this prada claden chica in 2.5'' heels.

We saundered around the city for the afternoon saying "Puedo sacar una photo" and with a foot long lens...everyone seemed to be ok with me being mucho tourista. Even la policia were eager to let us take their picture.

Now, we were eager to find some dinner to avoid the evening grumpies, but, all we could find was shoe store after shoe store. Alison kindly poked her head into a bakery to ask where was a good place to eat. The tica who ran the bakery quickly phoned someone to find out where we should go and after a walk to the other side of the town...the slightly sketchier part of town we found a nice little restaurant for dinner. The great thing about costa rica is that the ticos and ticas are so friendly and are always eager to help. The restaurant made us some delicious tacos and nachos.

I had to keep my kisses for alison until later as the sign beside our table said "Es prohibito escenas amorosas"= It is prohibited scenes of love.

We're going to curb our travelling binge today after going to La Fortuna and enjoy the hotsprings at the foot of Mt Arenal. Mt. Arenal is an active volcano and we've been told that you can watch the lava flow down the mountain from the pool's swim up bar.

pura vida
